My computer has slowed down for a long time. I’ve scanned the PC concerning viruses, looked through the registry, but wasn’t success. I think the main problem is in litter registry and want to clean it by myself.

System slow downs are rarely if at all caused by clutter in the registry; if you have ruled out spyware and viruses, the two most likely candidates are insufficient RAM (Windows XP needs 1 GB; Vista needs 2 GB) and unnecessary programmes starting with windows, especially if you have iTunes and quicktime installed.
There might also be slow downs caused by the software you are using to protect yourself online. For example, many people on YA recommend installing a decent firewall, antivirus and antispyware tools. Sound advice; but say you install Zonealarm, AVG and Spybot Search & Destroy (all free and always recommended heartily) each of these contain modules that constantly monitor your pc, eat up system resources and slow things down considerably.
