I had this computer built by a local business, to make videos of our equipment running for potential customers. It worked fine for a couple of months, til Fox News wanted to update to a newer version of Direct-X. Thats when it all went down the drain.

You should try using a program called Registry Mechanic to fix it….if you need a copy I can email one to you. As its only 3.88mb in size. I had a the same issue the other night and it sorted it all out in about 5min.

first get your windows properly activated, then find updated drivers for the existing sound card, and make sure the drivers are for the system you are using (XP, Vista, or whatever). then also check for any windows patches or hotfixes or updates you may need……be sure NOT to download any hardware drivers directly from Microsoft update site as for the most part, they are incorrect. Go directly to the manufacturers site for the drivers. And next time you want a system built for cheap…..get the parts and put it together yourself…..not only is it getting easier and easier to do so, its a great learning experience and gives you a knowledge base for being able to diagnose any problems that may arise, because you have an intimate knowledge of the system.

if i understand correctly … that guy stoled your windows serial number and published it in the internet and now is black listed by Microsoft and now Microsoft wont let u update your Direct x …
if this is your problem then there is 2 way one is to buy a new serial number from somewhere or new windows cd .. or use any unblocked serial number …. then you must use windows serial number changer to change your serial number and then you can update your computer in Microsoft but before doing this i must ask you to reinstall your audio driver … this means you must uninstall any audio driver from your windows then reinstall it …. if your only problem is with updating to new direct x then you can do it manually but i think you cant do this becuase uninstalling direct x is very hard and it can crash your windows …. so i wont say anything about this … u may search about this and find a way to do this … but changing windows serial number is not that hard and the only problem is if you use stolen serial number microsoft may get you i dont know about this because i live in iran and we do all the thing crack way thats why im free to say anything …. i think no one will let u know how to change serial number but ill
first find a serial number from anywhere u know
then use this program to change your serial number
then go to Microsoft and check you can update your windows or not … if you cant then try a new serial number…
